Rhodes House: The 2025 Venue
Following the success of last year’s conference, we are pleased to confirm that the JPLC Conference will now be held for the next few years at Rhodes House, a venue that received extremely positive feedback and offers excellent facilities for our needs.
Previously, the Conference was hosted at the Oxford Union, but that venue became unavailable due to ongoing upgrades and refurbishments. After careful consideration of alternative options, the Committee selected Rhodes House as it best met our logistical, financial, and quality criteria.
We are aware of the wider conversations taking place within and beyond the University regarding the Rhodes Trust. The Trust continues to review and critically engage with its history and legacy, including through the reimagining of Rhodes House. Further information is available here).
As always, the JPLC Committee is committed to widening and diversifying participation in this and future conferences. We do so through initiatives such as our “Next Generation” Scholarships and by actively encouraging applications from individuals and groups historically under-represented at the event, many of whom will be attending for the first time.
We look forward to welcoming you to Rhodes House in 2025 and beyond.
